Dan Locke

Founder & CEO

Dan has a diversified career successfully advising corporate executives and startup founders to scale their businesses during periods of transition and exponential growth.  He is an expert in both startups and high growth businesses within eCommerce, SaaS, marketplace, payments, mobile apps, and energy.

​

He excels at strategic forecasts, business planning, KPIs and provides sound, honest, and ethical advice.  He has worked at companies of all sizes and also has significant experience as a Co-Founder in multiple businesses.  He excels at building and presenting investor and board decks, raising capital and leading M&A.  

​

Dan is based in Boston, MA and has previously lived in Santa Barbara, CA and Austin, TX.  He has an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship and a Masters of Science in Information Systems from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis University and studied Spanish at the University of Salamanca in Spain.

He has held senior leadership roles with BigCommerce, ezCater, and Constant Contact where he reported to various members of the Executive Team for each company.  His strengths in these spaces include retention, acquisition, customer experience, forecasting, business planning and analysis.  

​

In 2012 he Co-Founded fast casual pizza chain Persona Wood Fired Pizzeria that he led through a merger with Firenza Pizza and the development of 35 units in just 3 years.  In addition to working as the CFO, Dan led all technology efforts including oversight of the website, online ordering, POS implementations, and product management of the mobile app, integrations and marketing automation.

His first job out of business school was as an Industry Analyst in Telecom and Media for Pyramid Research.  Dan was often often interviewed in the press about his market research publications and was a featured Analyst on Bloomberg TV.  He was also a guest speaker at mobile broadband and IoT conferences around the world.

Dan enjoys family, travel, investing, kayaking, hiking, sports, beer, comedy, astronomy, physics and his dog Latke.

Mike ONeil

CFO Consultant

Mike’s passion is working with clients to develop winning strategies and business plans, evaluate investment opportunities, improve operating processes, and drive overall exceptional business performance. His professional background encompasses more than 30 years of operational, finance and strategy roles in both consulting and in-company positions.

 

Mike’s unique background gives him a very pragmatic and results-oriented approach to strategy formulation and implementation. His work is grounded in rigorous data science and analytics, complemented by customer and market research; all with an eye towards an operational plan that delivers results.

 

Mike’s diverse work experiences include many industrial verticals, consumer segments and functional areas.  This well-rounded set of projects and roles enable him to develop holistic solutions to complex organizational challenges.   Core competencies include SaaS technology products and services targeting small businesses, online presence, transportation/logistics, marketing and customer service.

 

Mike’s strategy consulting experience began at Bain & Company.  He has delivered strategy consulting engagements with Bain's rigorous approach to start-up, middle market, and Fortune 50 companies. Mike’s experience with in-company operating roles occurred at General Electric, IBM, Constant Contact, and Endurance International. His project experience spans growth strategy, new product development, process redesign, cost reduction and turnaround initiatives. 

 

While at GES Exposition Services, Mike was responsible for multiple finance functions including Accounts Payable, Facilities, Payroll, and Procurement. He applied his extensive process improvement background to reduce cost, improve multiple departments’ quality of service and establish metrics for key performance indicators. Mike also played a key role in selecting and implementing GES’ new Financial and Performance Management systems.

MIke enjoys spending time with his daughters Charlotte and Penny and his Jack Russell Milo.  He performs regularly in musical groups and is determined to finally win his fantasy football league this year!
